i had my first exhibition on the 1st of march. it was wonderful . a lil surreal…to see the lil flyers and ads. i was so busy preparing for it..and preparing stuff to showcase as part of the store, moving and getting essentials for new place..i was a lil numb then i got scared but mi alma was with me. paisajes is landscapes. landscapes of inside and out…of my heart and mind and around me. i had good feedbacks on that day..wonderful atmosphere, great music from a cuban group, nice people too. i got to know some people..even someone from singapore! which is cool. she has been here two years with her husband. seems nice. i met a lady who might want to use one of my work for an exhibition opening…which if it works out could mean more things so im keeping heart and mind open. also a lady from japan with whom i might be taking a class with…cool stuff that. i was actually calm among people. got out of my lil shell to welcome and talk to people to see what they think…even when this guy who goes to exhibition openings to get free food and drinks..whom im told gets drunk at these functions and was later escorted out..came to talk to me..tried to intimidate me..i was ok. close friends from here came..my maestro came and stayed almost an hour which is a lil miraculous…it was a lovely evening. now i have a better idea of what to expect, what to do more and better, how to plan things better. there was a wonderful comment from a lady. she said she could see my heart and soul in my work..which made me really happy. i am so very grateful for the opening of this door. i couldnt have done it without surya. sometimes i wonder if others would like my work cos all i do is do what comes from inside..how i feel, what i see..my way but he always is behind me..my constant companion..the sun in my world. thank you so so very much. first hill has been climbed. now im slow walking down a lil..but planning how to conquer next one….both for my art and the store. people liked the stuff we had and we have decided to partner with the restaurent. good people..good location…so more planning and working on next stages. more learning…more living…its good.
